WISE(IR) Turns One: Reflecting on a Powerful Evening of Partnership and Progress
On April 30th, we celebrated one year of WISE(IR) – Women in Solar Energy Ireland with a special anniversary event that focused on the theme “Community Partnership Building – How to Improve Project/Community Communications.”
Hosted by Philip Lee LLP in Dublin, the evening gathered professionals from across the energy sector for an honest and energising discussion on the role of trust, transparency, and inclusion in Ireland’s solar journey.
Following a warm welcome from Maeve Delargy, co-founder and driving force of the network, the panel shared first-hand perspectives on what real community engagement looks like in practice—from listening early, to adapting project plans, to showing up when it matters most.
The panel’s key message:
“Partnership isn’t a step in the project plan—it’s the foundation.”
After the panel, guests connected over refreshments and networking, celebrating the spirit of WISE(IR): collaboration, support, and shared purpose.
As we look ahead, one thing is clear: solar can only thrive if communities are brought along—early, openly, and with respect. WISE(IR) will continue to amplify these conversations, champion diversity, and strengthen the connections that help solar shine brighter.
Thank you to everyone who joined us, supported us, and believed in this mission from day one. Here's to a brighter, fairer solar future—together.
